For the month of November, we have chosen Sue Demiralay as our Spotlight Athlete! Sue started at the beginning of 2017 and has continued to improve throughout the year. She is from Germany and sometimes there is a slight language barrier. However, she never lets that stop her from asking questions, giving it her all, and accomplishing the workout. She pushes her limits and never gives up. Sue is also one of the sweetest and kindest people to have ever walked through our doors at CrossFit Rolesville. Everyone absolutely adores her and her entire family. We are extremely proud of her and love that she is apart of our CFR community.

Proudest accomplishment at CrossFit Rolesville?
My biggest accomplishment so far at Crossfit Rolesville was gaining self-confidence. Before starting Crossfit, I had little to none. Every time I completed a workout for the day, I had gained a new level of confidence.
How did you find CFR? Why do you train?
I found CFR through driving by when I was dropping off and picking up my children to and from school. Tolga and I were always talking about joining Crossfit after we moved to Rolesville and I decided to take the opportunity. It’s been one of the best decisions in my life. I train because I want to get stronger, not only physically but also mentally. Crossfit has given me the opportunity to improve.
What is your favorite moment so far at CFR?
Seeing the other fellow athletes accomplish the daily workout with me. After a workout, we always get fist bumps. I really feel accomplished after that.
What is your daily motivation to workout?
I always remember the change in my mood after the workout. A good change. The workout helps me release my stress and decreases my anxiety level.
Favorite and least favorite movements?
My favorite movement is the deadlift. Being able to pick up something heavy makes me feel strong! Deadlift also allows to push my limits. My least favorite movement though, is the snatch.
What’s one thing you would tell to a new CrossFitter?
Some days you might not have any motivation to do a workout. Still, show up and do your best. Push yourself. Even if you have no motivation, it’s definitely worth the struggle. You get so many accomplishments and opportunities but you’re not going to be your best every day. It’s a part of the Crossfit journey.
One song that gets you amped up during a WOD?
Sally up & Sally down. (I just got introduced to the song and it’s a love/hate thing)
